Randy Overton was lead lobbyist in the State of North Carolina for Procter & Gamble. An example of his efforts came with the blocking of additional corporate taxes that would have cost Procter & Gamble for their four manufacturing plants located in North Carolina an additional $750 million in new taxes.
During 1992-2002 Randy served on the Board of Directors for The North Carolina Technological Development Authority where he served in many roles. He was Chairman of the Audit Committee, Treasurer, Vice Chairman and Chairman. The NCTDA's mission was to provide funds for Rural Economic Development, Fund to Funds, Seed Money for upstart Biotech and Technology Companies. The NCTDA created 18 Business Incubators around the state of North Carolina.
During Randy's 10 years he assisted in lobbying efforts at the General Assembly on a yearly basis to help secure appropriation funds. These funds were needed to run the NCTDA's mission.
