Randy Overton has over 37 years of experience working for small business, a fortune top 50 Corporation, and a start-up company. His background includes: management, sales & marketing, state, federal and local government relations on issues that includes, infrastructure, economic development, bio- tech and small business start-ups.
Randy served four years as lead lobbyist and team leader for Procter and Gamble, a Fortune top 50 Corporation. He has also assisted with the North Carolina Dental Society, National Rifle Association, and North Carolina Technological Development Authority on legislative issues.
Randy was appointed to the North Carolina Technological Development Authority (NCTDA), where he served as Board member, Finance Chairman, Vice Chairman and later Chairman in which he was instrumental in leading the reorganizational efforts of the NCTDA. The NCTDA provided fund to funds, seed money for upstarts, venture capital and created business incubators around the State of North Carolina.
Randy was appointed and served on the State and Local Finance Committees for Governor James Martin, Lt. Governor James Gardner, the North Carolina Republican Party, and the Fourth Congressional District as Finance Chairman. He has also served for Sheriff Donnie Harrison, and the campaigns of Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan.
Randy has received numerous awards for his leadership and work over the years from boards, clients and corporations.
Randy started ROConsultants, LLC in 2010. ROC provides lobbying and business consulting services for small business and corporations. Randy spent over 32 years with Procter & Gamble with extensive experience in pharmaceutical sales, client management, product marketing, and government relations. Randy provided consultation for healthcare, dental practices and small corporations. Through the use of strategic planning and leadership, Randy worked closely with C-level management to help establish their strategy to increase revenue.
Randy also volunteers and has spent 14 seasons as a lead for the GSK Holiday Invitational Basketball Tournament held in Raleigh. He represents the Duke recruits and their teams. Has also worked with North Carolina State and University of North Carolina recruits.
Randy is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina where he grew up and learned his values of hard work from his family. He attended the former Hardbargers Business College. Later he attended North Carolina State University and East Carolina University with concentration in Business Management. He resides in Raleigh with his wife, Lillian. Randy and Lillian have two boys, Stephen and Jonathan.
